1. How do we use your data?

Investors and potential investors. If you enter into conversations with us about participating as a limited partner in a Fund which we advise, we may collect information including your name, date of birth, contact details, nationality, banking details, tax ID details, wealth documentation and company details. We use these details to perform identity verification, communicate with you, enter into contractual arrangements with you, send cash distributions to you, organise meetings with you, and otherwise provide services to you. We collect these details to fulfil our contractual obligations to you, and to fulfil our legal obligations (e.g. under anti-money laundering legislation).
 

Portfolio companies. If we enter into conversations with you about Pledge Ventures investing in your company, we may collect information including names, contact details, nationalities, dates of birth, curriculum vitaes and financial status details of founders, directors and shareholders. We use this for identity verification and due diligence, ongoing investment management, communicating with you and organising meetings with you. This is necessary to allow us to enter into contractual relationships with you, and to fulfil our legal obligations,
 

Contact us. If you contact us with an enquiry, we collect information including your name, contact details and company details because it is in our legitimate interest to make sure we can properly respond to your query.
 

News updates. We will handle your personal information such as your name and email address to provide you with our news updates in line with any preferences you have told us about. When we send you our news updates because you have opted-in to receive them, we rely on your consent to contact you. If we contact you by email and you haven't opted-in, this is because we believe you will be interested in the Founders Pledge community, and the lawful basis we rely on to do this is our legitimate interest to promote our business.

Job applications. If you apply for a job with us, we collect information including your name, contact details and recruitment information such as your right to work documentation, references and qualifications. We will use this information to assess your suitability for our available roles. We do this to perform our contractual obligations or to take steps before entering into a contract. Where we process your right to work documentation, we will do so to comply with our legal obligations.

 

Who do we share your data with?
We may share the name and email addresses of business professionals with Founders Pledge Limited (registered UK charity with registered charity number 1162201, and company limited by guarantee with company number 08565148) based on our legitimate interests of building our membership community. If you would like to opt out of Pledge Ventures sharing your data with Founders Pledgel Limited, please contact our team at info@founderspledge.com.
 
We may also share your data with the following third parties:

• professional advisors such as our lawyers, bank, auditors or insurers;

• law enforcement, government and regulatory agencies or to other third parties as required by, and in accordance with, applicable law or regulation; and

• our suppliers or sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with you.

 

Where Do We Store Your Data?

How long do we keep your data for?
We will only retain your personal information for as long as we need it unless we are required to keep it for longer to comply with our legal, accounting or regulatory requirements.
