Ben co-founded Pledge Ventures alongside Niki and David in 2022. Prior to this he was chief of staff at applied AI company Faculty, where he was responsible for building relationships with key partners and led on special projects.

His enthusiasm for investing in startups comes from his experience with Rockspring, which since 2001 has backed 55 founders; most of them based in the Cambridge (UK) ecosystem. Ben’s interest in AI began when Rockspring became an early investor in DeepMind. He enjoys spending time with phenomenal inventors and problem solvers, and investing in their ideas.

In his spare time he occasionally gets out to spear-fish along the UK coastline.
